Brian is a native Chicagoan with a past mix of employment experiences including home builder, carpenter, children’s furniture creator, designer, draftsman, muralist, and painter. Since 2008 he’s been a Fort Worth-based painter & professor of theatre design & technology at Texas Christian University. Prior to this, he worked at Chicago Scenic Studios, creating scenery for exhibits, theatre, television, and museums. More recently, he has taught portraiture at Cobalt Studios in New York and led study abroad classes to the Czech Republic, Ireland, and to the South of France in the summer of 2026. Brian greatly enjoys traveling with his family and encountering different cultures and historical items first-hand with sketching equipment in hand at the ready. He is a graduate of The University of Kansas, from which he holds a BFA in Illustration and an MFA in Scenography.
